How Rebekah Made a Profit off the Life She Was Sold

“Sometimes in life we think we have no purpose, or ask what am I here for? Pray, God will show you. Everyone has a purpose in life.”

These are the words from Rebekah Decker, born on November 20, 1986. Rebekah was born with a Congenital Heart Disease known as Ebstein’s Anomaly. 32 years old and Rebekah thinks about how precious life is for everyone, especially herself.

She wasn’t given much hope when she was born. In fact, Rebekah had her first open heart surgery at just three days old which turned into a second surgery at only 10 days old. Rebekah and her family may not have known it then but she knows now that her life wasn’t going to stop there. “God had other plans for me” Rebekah says.

After the first two surgeries early into her life, Rebekah had to have a third at 17 months old. This time, the Glen Shunt procedure. Rebekah survived and has lived a long life. In May of 2016, Rebekah had to go in for another OHS for a double valve replacement (Tricuspid and Pulmonary).

Since her young life Rebekah has enjoyed singing and became very good at it. So good, that when she was 21 she started to sing at her ministry. Rebekah even released her first CD called “Tied Together With God’s Love”.

Rebekah is an obvious miracle. She is a woman with Congenital Heart Disease. Women with CHD can have a difficult time giving birth and are at risk of having heart failure when doing so. You can read more about it here. But that didn’t stop Rebekah from having a child of her own with her husband Matt. After 3 miscarriages and being told that she would continue to miscarry, Rebekah gave birth to Brantlie Wayne Miracle Decker September 9, 2017.

Rebekah has been through the wringer in her young life but the greatest part about this story is that Rebekah has lived a rich, wonderful life! A singer, getting married, having a baby, and much more that will come in the future — Rebekah is a role model for those who wonder what life can be like with a CHD. You never know what tomorrow will bring, so make the most out of your life today.

Why do we write these stories? It has always been about sharing stories of others that can hopefully provide hope to those who need it most. Showing individuals who Never Miss a Beat. Rebekah is a clear cut example of hope and someone who Never Misses a Beat! God sold her a life and she continues to make him a profit.
